What’s your favor? 2008 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition announced the judgment of Taiwan Flavor Cuisine on August 18.Squid balls (炸花枝丸) and mango shaved ice (芒果冰) are two of the most popular snacks to foreign guests.
The Tourism Bureau invited food critics from Japan, Korea, Germany, France, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong to judge Taiwanese cuisine, including desserts, snacks and flavored dishes. After two-day course of sampling and among hundreds of delicacies, these experts from different countries have come to a conclusion that squid ball is considered one of the best tastes of Taiwan for its chewy texture and seafood flavor, and it is suitable for deep fried and steam cooked as well.
Mango shaved ice is another Taiwan dessert that catches these gourmets’ eyes. Taiwan has a variety of well-known fruits, and fresh cubed mango on the top of shaved ice is a popular dessert in summer for Taiwanese. Other selected dishes are beef noodles(牛肉麵), taro rice cake(客家芋頭米糕), braised pork rice(滷肉飯), soup noodles(切仔麵), etc.
The Tourism Bureau will integrate the results of the judgment to program the overseas marketing of Taiwan tourism and to attract foreign visitors. As night markets in Taiwan are always attractive to foreign visitors, these selected Taiwan flavor delicacies are easily found in night markets as well.
Visit more about Taiwan NIGHT MARKETS: http://tourguide.sinotour.com/nightmarket/
For more Information, please link to http://tourguide.sinotour.com/nightmarket/

Longshan Temple

Being one of the famous temples in Taiwan, Longshan Temple is the center of worship, social and commercial activities for Wanghua citizens., Longshan Temple is Located in Taipei City and built in 1783 by Fujianese immigrants. There are good “must go” reasons for you to visit Alishan once in your life.

Alishan Railway – One of the three world-renown mountain railways.

Alishan sunrise – the breathtaking sunrise from the elevation of over 2000 metres.

Alishan's sea of clouds – Endless clouds around the mountains.

Tsou aborigine’s culture – The Harvest Festival, Bar-B-Q wild boars and legends.

One of the most important reason I think is “easy life in woods”. There are so many well-done forest trails in Alishan. You may enjoy hiking or simply follow trails and take a easy walk. Indeed, that is the most treasured time in my life.

There is a story behind the name of Alishan. About 250 years ago, there was a brave hunter named Abali and he was the chief of Tsou tribe. He leaded his people to hunt in the mountain and they always had fruitful results. Everyone admired him for his achievement. Therefore they named the mountain after him as “Alishan.” Alishan is one of the most famous sights in Taiwan.(The story is quoted from http://tourguide.sinotour.com/alishan/)

Expat Show Shanghai

The first Expat Show held in Shanghai last year in 2007 was highly praised.
