Eluanbi Park

Established in 1982, Eluanbi Park functions as avenue for people coming to visit Taiwan's southernmost point. As one of the peninsula's most notable landmarks, the Eluanbi Lighthouse, also called "The Light of East Asia"The park boasted the brightest lighthouse in Asia, covering an area of 59 hectares. Located in the southernmost tip of Taiwan, Eluanbi is at the point where the Bashi Channel meets the Pacific Ocean. You can find plenty of coral reef rocks, unique coral reef plants, and tropical coastal plants.

National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium

The National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium is situated near the sea, close to the Kenting National Park. The aim of establishing such museum, apart from biological education, commerce, culture, and recreation, is the respect for the environment. The National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium is divided into three main areas: Waters of Taiwan, Coral Kingdom Pavilion, Waters of the World. Taipei 101

Taipei 101 is 509 meters tall and is the world’s tallest skyscraper. Situated in Xinyi District near Taipei City Hall, Taipei 101 was designed by Taiwanese renowned architect Zu-Yuan Li. Taipei 101 is the landmark in Taipei City and was designed based on the Chinese lucky number 8. Comprising 101 floors, Taipei 101 has the world’s two fastest elevators that can travel 9 floors in just 37 seconds (nearly 64.4km per hour).

Taipei 101 has parking lots from B2 to B4, shopping centers from B1 to the 4th floor, banks and financial centers on the 5th floor, business offices from the 6th floor to the 80th floor, VIP Club on the 85th floor, restaurants from the 86th floor to the 88th floor, an indoor viewing area of Taipei City on the 89th floor and an outdoor viewing area on the 91st floor.

Next to Taipei 101 is the Xinyi commercial district. As one of the most prosperous districts of Taipei City, Xinyi commercial district features a large number of worldwide well-known brand boutiques, such as Chanel, Gucci, and Coach. Beitou has been well known for its natural resources and wonderful scenery for a long period of time. Since the Qing Dynasty, Beitou has been well known for the extraction of sulphur, which is the main component of the Beitou Hot Spring. The Beitou Hot Spring facilities were developed while Taiwan was under Japanese Imperial Rule. At that time, the Japanese were very fond of hot springs and regarded them as a way of healing anything and everything. As time progressed, Beitou Hot Spring has developed into one of the popular leisure attractions in Taiwan.
Located in Taipei City, Beitou features public hot spring pools and a great number of hot spring resorts and hotels. The Tourism Bureau invited food critics from Japan, Korea, Germany, France, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong to judge Taiwanese cuisine, including desserts, snacks and flavored dishes. After two-day course of sampling and among hundreds of delicacies, these experts from different countries have come to a conclusion that squid ball is considered one of the best tastes of Taiwan for its chewy texture and seafood flavor, and it is suitable for deep fried and steam cooked as well.
Mango shaved ice is another Taiwan dessert that catches these gourmets’ eyes. Taiwan has a variety of well-known fruits, and fresh cubed mango on the top of shaved ice is a popular dessert in summer for Taiwanese. Other selected dishes are beef noodles(牛肉麵), taro rice cake(客家芋頭米糕), braised pork rice(滷肉飯), soup noodles(切仔麵), etc.

Longshan Temple

Alishan is one of the most famous mountain in Taiwan. There are good “must go” reasons for you to visit Alishan once in your life.

One of the most important reason I think is “easy life in woods”. There are so many well-done forest trails in Alishan. You may enjoy hiking or simply follow trails and take a easy walk. Indeed, that is the most treasured time in my life.

There is a story behind the name of Alishan. About 250 years ago, there was a brave hunter named Abali and he was the chief of Tsou tribe. He leaded his people to hunt in the mountain and they always had fruitful results. Everyone admired him for his achievement. Chiang-Ku Ceremony in Yilan

As one of the most typical religious Ceremony, Chiang-Ku Ceremony would take place in Yilan. Similar competition to climb up the bamboo towers would also take place.

The seventh month of the lunar calendar, AKA The Ghost Month, is believed to be the time when ghosts and spirits, including those of the deceased ancestors, come out from the lower realm. Ceremonies would be held in Taiwan during this month to avoid bad luck. Especially, the Mid-Summer Ghost Festival on the 15th day of the Ghost Month is the most significant.
